A field of 128 players will compete for the £150,000 prize fund at the Mattioli Arena, with Tour Card holders joined by a series of Challenge Tour top-ups.
Prize money earned will count towards the PDC Order of Merit, ProTour Order of Merit and Players Championship Order of Merit.
World number one Luke Littler makes his first Players Championship appearance of the season as he aims to chase down a place in November’s Players Championship Finals in Minehead.
Littler is joined by two-time Players Championship Finals winner Luke Humphries and Dutch star Wessel Nijman – a six-time Players Championship event winner this season.
Three-time World Champion Michael van Gerwen, former World Matchplay champion Nathan Aspinall and former World Champion Rob Cross also feature, alongside the likes of Chris Dobey, Beau Greaves and Ryan Searle.
Play commences from 1pm BST, with all matches up to and including the quarter-finals to be contested over the best of 11 legs, while semi-finals are best of 13 and the final is best of 15.
Matches from four streaming boards are available to watch exclusively live on desktop and mobile in the UK and various other regions.
