Premier League Darts heads to Sheffield for Night 16 on Thursday as the regular league phase draws to a close.

With all four play-off places having been confirmed, all that remains is the final league positions and additional prize money at stake.

Luke Littler and Jonny Clayton had already secured a play-off spot ahead of last week’s trip to Birmingham, and the former champions were joined by Gerwyn Price and Luke Humphries – who sealed their spot at The O2 with a night to spare.

Littler and Clayton are guaranteed to finish first and second respectively, meaning they cannot meet in next week’s semi-finals, while Price and Humphries are left jostling for third spot.

Humphries clinched his first nightly title of the campaign in Birmingham last Thursday, defeating Price in the final to secure a return to the play-offs, despite spending four of the 15 weeks so far inside the top four.

The world number two continued his timely burst of form by picking up his second Players Championship title of the season on Monday. taking his unbeaten run to ten matches in all competitions.

He now takes on seven-time Premier League champion Van Gerwen in the quarter-finals at the Utilita Arena and will be keen to secure a third place finish in order to avoid a semi-final showdown with rival Littler next week.

Van Gerwen will miss out on the play-offs for the second successive year despite picking up the Night One title in Newcastle and reaching a further three nightly finals.

Price has progressed to the play-offs for the second year in a row courtesy of two nightly titles and a further two final appearances, and the Welshman takes on the eliminated Gian van Veen in South Yorkshire.

Price occupies third spot coming into Night 16 and can rubber-stamp a semi-final clash with his compatriot Clayton by equalling or bettering Humphries’ result.

Van Veen reached four finals in the opening nine weeks of his debut campaign, but has ultimately paid the price for missing Night Seven through illness.

However, the European Champion will be determined to end on a high by clinching his first nightly title which would see him finish fifth.

Meanwhile, 2024 champion Littler looks to secure a record-breaking seventh nightly title of the campaign, which would eclipse the record tally he set last year.

A seventh nightly title for the world number one would also see him set a new points record of 46, having racked up 45 last season.

Littler takes on World Cup winner Josh Rock – who must win the night if he is to have any chance of avoiding finishing bottom of the table in his debut campaign.

The opening match of the evening sees 2021 champion Clayton take on former Masters champion Stephen Bunting.

Clayton is looking to round off a magnificent return campaign to the Premier League which has seen him rack up four weekly titles and 34 points.

The Welsh number one has won three of his four meetings with Bunting in this year’s Premier League and 16 of their 26 encounters in all competitions.

Bunting, who finished bottom of the table in 2025, claimed the Night Four title in Belfast but just one win from his last five outings ended his hopes of challenging for a play-off spot.

The action gets under way from 7pm BST, with all matches to be contested over the best of 11 legs.
