The fifth European Tour silverware of the season is up for grabs as the 16 remaining players face off at the European Darts Grand Prix in Sindelfingen on Sunday.

Twelve seeds and four qualifiers remain in contention for the £35,000 top prize at the Glaspalast as they battle it out over two sessions.

The afternoon session plays host to the Last 16 ties, before the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final follow in the evening.

Nathan Aspinall steps up his quest for back-to-back European Tour titles with a clash against ten-time major winner James Wade.

Aspinall, who triumphed at the German Darts Grand Prix a fortnight ago, thrashed Jeffrey De Zwaan 6-1 in his opener, while fourth seed Wade averaged 104 in a high quality 6-3 win over Kim Huybrechts.

Second seed Michael van Gerwen continues his pursuit of a third European Grand Prix title when he takes on Dutch compatriot Jermaine Wattimena.

Van Gerwen swept aside Germany’s Michael Unterbuchner 6-2 in his opener on Saturday, while Wattimena averaged 98.8 in a 6-3 defeat of Kevin Doets.

European Darts Trophy champion Wessel Nijman aims to continue his incredible run of form when he faces Stephen Bunting – twice a European Tour event winner last season.

Nijman, who has also landed a hat-trick of Players Championship titles this year, could end the weekend inside the world’s top 16 for the first time, but faces a formidable test from Premier League star Bunting.

Jonny Clayton, who sits top of the Premier League table after a fourth nightly title of the campaign on Thursday, comes up against German number one Martin Schindler.

Clayton crushed Latvia’s Valters Melderis 6-1 with a 106.8 average on Saturday, picking up from where he left off in Rotterdam, while Schindler eventually edge out Damon Heta in a decider despite averaging in the mid-60s after almost four legs.

Joe Cullen, who punished an out of sorts Gian van Veen in the second round to reach the Last 16 of a European Tour event for the first time in 12 months, takes on Polish stalwart Krzysztof Ratajski – who dumped out 16th seed Mike De Decker.

Danny Noppert resumes his bid for an elusive maiden European Tour title with a tie against home hero Niko Springer.

The pair met in last year’s Hungarian Darts Trophy final, with Springer sealing the win for his first European Tour silverware, and the resurgent German will be riding high again after dethroning defending champion Gary Anderson in Round Two.

Nine-time European Tour event winner Gerwyn Price continues his pursuit of a maiden European Grand Prix title with a tie against Chris Dobey – twice a Players Championship event winner this season.

Meanwhile, World Cup of Darts winner Josh Rock takes on former European Champion Ross Smith, with the pair having enjoyed 6-3 wins over Keane Barry and Cameron Menzies respectively on Saturday.

The action gets under way from 12pm GMT, with Last 16 and quarter-final ties to be contested over the best of 11 legs, semi-finals best of 13 and the final best of 15.
