Alan Soutar

Scottish firefighter Alan Soutar has balanced life on the front line with a rapidly rising darts career.

Soutar only joined the professional ranks in 2021 but has wasted little time in making his mark. The Arbroath ace reached the last 16 of the UK Open and on his debut World Championship appearance, then repeated the feat a year later. He also enjoyed a remarkable run to the quarter-finals of the 2022 Grand Slam of Darts before capturing his maiden ranking title at Players Championship 11 in June 2024.

Juggling tournament travel with his job in the fire service, “Soots” continues to rise up the Order of Merit thanks to his combination of tenacity, heavy scoring and accuracy on double 16. Many believe his best is yet to come.
