Biography
Three-time World Champion Michael van Gerwen is widely regarded as one of darts all-time greats.
After bursting onto the scene as a teenage World Masters champion in 2006, “Mighty Mike” returned to prominence with his breakthrough PDC title at the 2012 World Grand Prix. That victory heralded a decade of dominance in which he collected three World Championship crowns (2014, 2017 and 2019) and amassed over 150 PDC titles.
Van Gerwen completed the full set of televised PDC titles by winning the 2019 Champions League and continues to add to his haul, including World Series wins and the 2025 World Series of Darts Finals. Renowned for his relentless scoring and ruthless finishing, the Dutch star remains a fixture at the top of the rankings and boasts ten televised nine-darters.
