BetVictor World Cup of Darts 2025 | Day Two Preview and Order of Play
The Group Stage action continues at the BetVictor World Cup of Darts on Friday with the remaining set of fixtures to be held over two blockbuster sessions.
The opening night of the unique pairs event featured the first 12 matches, which included defeats for four seeded nations.
Day Two at the Eissporthalle sees Thursday’s losing nations return in the afternoon session to face the other team yet to feature in the group, before the evening session sees Thursday’s winners face the teams who did not feature on opening night.
Tenth seeds Canada look to bounce back from their shock defeat to Malaysia when they face Denmark in a crucial Group F clash.
Matt Campbell and Jim Long averaged just 79 in a 4-1 defeat to Tengku Shah and Tan Jenn Ming – who will look to clinch qualification for the knockout phase against the odds by overcoming Benjamin Drue Reus and Andreas Hyllgaardhus.
Croatia, quarter-finalists 12 months ago, also have work to do if they are to avoid an early exit this time around, with Pero Ljubić and Boris Krčmar having squandered a 3-1 lead in a 4-3 defeat to Japan.
Croatia take on Switzerland in the afternoon session as Stefan Bellmont and Alex Fehlmann enter the fray, before Ryusei Azemoto and Tomoya Goto face the Swiss duo in the evening.
Netherlands put down a mark with an emphatic eight-minute whitewash of Italy on Thursday, and Danny Noppert and Gian van Veen now look to seal qualification from Group A with victory over Hungary’s György Jehirszki and Gergely Lakatos.
Italy’s Michele Turetta and Massimo Dalla Rosa will firstly bid to keep their Last 16 hopes alive when they face Hungary earlier in the day.
Last year’s runners-up Austria registered the highest average (99.4) of the opening night, and Mensur Suljović and Rusty-Jake Rodriguez will aim to pick up from where they left off when they meet 2022 champions Australia.
World number ten Damon Heta and former European Champion Simon Whitlock start out with a showdown against Spain’s Daniel Zapata and Ricardo Fernández in the afternoon session.
Belgium bid to follow up their opening win over Latvia in Group B as Mike De Decker and Dimitri van den Bergh face Lourence Ilagan and Paolo Nebrida of the Philippines.
Latvia’s Madars Razma and Valters Melderis must defeat the Filipino pairing in order to have any hopes of reaching the knockout phase.
Group C sees hosts Germany vying to wrap up a Last 16 spot at the expense of Singapore as Martin Schindler and Ricardo Pietreczko meet Paul Lim and Phuay Wei Tan.
WDF world finalist Lim is making his 11th World Cup appearance at the age of 71 and teams up with Wei Tan for the first time as they take on Portugal’s José de Sousa and Bruno Nascimento.
Poland’s Krzysztof Ratajski and Radek Szagański battled their way to a 4-3 victory over South Africa on Thursday night and will now face Norway’s Cor Dekker and Kent Jøran Sivertsen.
Cameron Carolissen and Devon Petersen must therefore defeat Norway in their second fixture in order to keep their Last 16 hopes alive.
Republic of Ireland, runners-up in 2019, take on China as William O’Connor and Keane Barry face Xiaochen Zong and Lihao Wen.
The Irish pair prevailed 4-2 over Gibraltar – who take on China in a must-win clash as Craig Galliano and Justin Hewitt aim to turn their fortunes around.
Hong Kong look to wrap up top spot in Group I by dispatching rank outsiders Bahrain, as Man Lok Leung and Lok Yin Lee face debutants Sadeq Mohamed and Hasan Bucheeri.
Group L sees Finland bidding to bounce back from their disappointing display against New Zealand when they face newcomers Argentina.
Teemu Harju and Marko Kantele were whitewashed 4-0 by Haupai Puha and Mark Cleaver – who will take on debutant duo Jesús Salate and Víctor Guillín for a place in the Last 16.
Czech Republic are in the driver’s seat in Group J following their 4-2 win over Chinese Taipei and have the opportunity to clinch top spot by defeating India’s Nitin Kumar and Mohan Goel.
Teng Lieh Pupo and An-Sheng Lu – who sealed a shock qualification for the Last 16 last year – aim to repeat the feat, but must firstly see off India.
Group G sees Thibault Tricole and Jacques Labre on France begin their campaign with a tie against Darius Labanauskas and Mindaugas Barauskas of Liathuania.
The action gets under way from 11am BST, with Group Matches to be contested over the best of seven legs.
