The seventh European Tour silverware of the year is up for grabs in Rosmalen on Sunday as the last 16 battle it out at the Dutch Darts Championship.

A £30,000 top prize is on offer at the Autotron as eight seeds and eight qualifiers go head-to-head over two sessions.

The afternoon session plays host to the Third Round ties, before the Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals and final follow in the evening.

Last year’s World Cup winning team-mates collide in an unmissable opener as Luke Humphries takes on Michael Smith.

World number one Humphries is bidding for his first European Tour title of the season to mark a perfect preparation for next week’s Premier League play-offs.

The World Masters champion recovered from 5-3 down and survived a match dart to edge out Cameron Menzies in a last-leg epic on Saturday which featured 13 maximums between them.

Smith rode his luck to a much greater extent, surviving a staggering ten match darts from Ryan Joyce as he snatched victory in a decider to maintain his World Matchplay qualification hopes.

Ricardo Pietreczko currently occupies the 16th and final ProTour qualification spot for Blackpool, £4,500 clear of Smith, and the German comes up against two-time major winner Daryl Gurney in the Last 16.

Pietreczko dumped out defending champion Josh Rock 6-4 on Saturday night, while Gurney held firm to deny Chris Dobey in a deciding leg.

At least one Dutchman is guaranteed a place in the evening’s quarter-finals as compatriots Dirk van Duijvenbode and Wessel Nijman face off.

Van Duijvenbode, semi-finalist in the recent European Grand Prix, has continued his blistering burst of form to whitewash Teemu Harju 6-0 and dispatch James Wade 6-3 with averages of 102.5 and 98.7 respectively.

Nijman, meanwhile, survived match darts to overcome Berry van Peer on Friday, before thrashing a struggling Peter Wright 6-1 in round two.

Fifth seed Damon Heta looks to reach the quarter-finals of a European Tour event for only the second time this season when he faces Dutch World Cup star Danny Noppert – who has not made it beyond the Third Round on the Euro Tour so far this year.

Niko Springer’s reward for his second round scalp of Stephen Bunting is an all-German showdown with Austrian Open champion Martin Schindler.

Mickey Mansell, who defeated Mike De Decker 6-5 in Round One before receiving a bye on Saturday due to Michael van Gerwen’s late withdrawal, now takes on former Euro Tour finalist Ryan Searle.

Two recent Players Championship event winners go head-to-head as Jonny Clayton meets Ross Smith.

Clayton averaged just shy of 100 in a commanding 6-2 win over Max Hopp on Saturday, while Smith surged past home hero Raymond van Barneveld by the same scoreline with a 99.4 average.

William O’Connor took full advantage of his late call-up to the event by defeating Boris Krcmar 6-3 on Saturday, and the Irishman now faces European Champion Ritchie Edhouse – who has come through last-leg deciders against Kim Huybrechts and Dave Chisnall so far this weekend.

The action gets under way from 12pm BST, with Third Round and Quarter-Final ties to be contested over the best of 11 legs, Semi-Finals best of 13 and the final best of 15.
