Austrian Darts Open 2025 | Day Two Preview and Order of Play
The seeded contingent commence their Austrian Darts Open campaigns on Saturday as the Second Round takes centre stage in Graz.
Day One of the season’s fifth European Tour event saw European Champion Ritchie Edhouse and five-time World Champion Raymond van Barneveld among the notable names to suffer early exits.
The Order of Merit seeds take to the Steiermarkhalle stage on Day Two as they aim to safely progress to Sunday’s Last 16.
The afternoon session sees home hero Mensur Suljovic looking to follow up Friday’s win over Edhouse when he faces two-time major winner Daryl Gurney.
Former European Champion Ross Smith opens up against Chris Landman – who edged out Andrew Gilding in a last-leg decider on Friday.
Three-time European Tour event winner Joe Cullen starts out against French number one Thibault Tricole, while Danny Noppert aims to end his miserable run of results on the Euro Tour when he meets emerging German star Niko Springer.
Last year’s Swiss Trophy runner-up Ryan Searle opens up against World Grand Prix semi-finalist Ryan Joyce, as recent Players Championship event winner Josh Rock Krzysztof Ratajski in a repeat of their quarter-final contest in Munich on Monday – which saw Rock prevail in a deciding leg.
World Youth champion Gian van Veen, the bookmaker’s favourite to claim this title, starts his pursuit of glory with an all-Dutch tie against Dirk van Duijvenbode.
World Grand Prix champion Mike De Decker faces a formidable opener against ProTour event winner Wessel Nijman – who overcame William O’Connor in Round One.
The evening session includes a showdown between top seed Jonny Clayton – a former winner of this title – and European Championship runner-up Jermaine Wattimena.
Second seed Stephen Bunting looks to bounce back from Thursday’s Premier League disappointment on home soil in Liverpool when he faces Canadian number one Matt Campbell.
Seventh seed Peter Wright, quarter-finalist in Munich last week, faces a tricky opener against European Championship semi-finalist Luke Woodhouse.
Eight-time European Tour event winner Dave Chisnall opens up against a resurgent Ian White – who reached a Players Championship final earlier this season.
Premier League star Chris Dobey faces former German Championship winner Ricardo Pietreczko, while third seed Damon Heta hosts Karel Sedlacek – who swept aside Van Barneveld in Round One.
European Darts Trophy champion Nathan Aspinall starts his quest for a second Euro Tour title of the season with a tie against Dutch ace Kevin Doets.
Martin Schindler, twice a European Tour event winner in 2024, takes on qualifier Matthew Dennant – who saw off home favourite Rowby-John Rodriguez in his opener.
The action gets under way from 12pm BST, with Second Round ties to be contested over the best of 11 legs.
