The 2024 European Championship draws to a close in Dortmund on Sunday as the final eight face off for the title.
A thrilling weekend at the Westfalenhallen has seen all previous champions fall by the wayside, guaranteeing a new name on the prestigious trophy.
Only two of the world’s top 16 ranked players are left standing in the competition, while three are making their first appearance in a major quarter-final.
The afternoon session plays host to the quarter-final ties, before the semi-finals and final follow in the evening in front of a 7,000-strong crowd.
Luke Humphries comes into the final day as the odds-on favourite to add this title to his haul of five televised singles majors within the last 12 months, and the world number one meets rank outsider Jermaine Wattimena in the Last Eight.
Humphries is appearing in his third consecutive European Championship quarter-final, having swept aside Nathan Aspinall and Jonny Clayton for the combined total of just five legs, averaging 106.5 and 102.3 in the process.
The reigning World Champion is looking to continue his remarkable run by reaching a seventh successive major ranking final stretching back to last year’s Grand Slam.
Wattimena faces the formidable task of trying to halt Humphries’ hopes, with the Dutchman having stunned former European champions Peter Wright and James Wade to reach his first major quarter-final since the 2019 World Grand Prix.
Wattimena whitewashed an out of sorts Wright in Round One before producing a sensational 124 checkout on the bull in the deciding leg to stun Wade from 5-1 down.
Meanwhile, Gary Anderson looks to reach his first major ranking semi-final since the 2021/22 World Championship by ending the landmark run of Ritchie Edhouse.
Anderson, making his first European Championship appearance since 2016, has comfortably seen off Stephen Bunting and rival Michael van Gerwen to reach his first televised ranking quarter-final of the season.
European Grand Prix champion and twice a ProTour event winner this season, Anderson is closing in on a return to the world’s top 16 and could do so by reaching the final in Dortmund.
Edhouse has enjoyed a dream run to his first major quarter-final, following up a 6-1 rout of Gian van Veen with a 109.5 average by edging out 2023 World Champion Michael Smith 10-9 in a thriller on Saturday.
The opening match of the afternoon sees former World Grand Prix finalist Dirk van Duijvenbode take on Luke Woodhouse.
Van Duijvenbode, who held on to the last available qualification spot, has taken full advantage by dumping out top seed Martin Schindler and Daryl Gurney to reach the Last Eight for the second successive year.
Woodhouse has progressed to only his second major ranking quarter-final courtesy of a 6-1 rout of 2022 champion Ross Smith and a 10-8 success over Ryan Searle.
Home favourite Ricardo Pietreczko looks to raise the roof at the Westfalenhallen once again when he comes up against former UK Open champion Danny Noppert.
Pietreczko pulled off a 6-5 win over Damon Heta from 5-3 down before thrashing Andrew Gilding 10-3 to move into his first major quarter-final and clinch a provisional top 32 spot.
Noppert, meanwhile, has continued his impressive consistency in this event by reaching a fourth consecutive quarter-final following wins over Joe Cullen and World Grand Prix champion Mike De Decker, climbing two places to world number 13 as a result.
The action gets under way from 12pm GMT, with quarter-finals to be played over the best of 19 legs and semi-finals and the final best of 21.
