The Austrian Darts Open commences in Premstätten on Friday as the qualifiers go head-to-head in Round One.
Event Five of 13 European Tour events this season sees 48 players competing for £175,000 in prize money at the Steiermarkhalle from April 26-28.
The afternoon session on Day One features a clash between in-form Ritchie Edhouse – who has reached the quarter-finals and Last 16 on his last two Euro Tour outings – and former World Youth Champion Arron Monk.
American ace Danny Lauby marks his Euro Tour debut with a tie against two-time Players Championship event winner Ryan Joyce, while former World Matchplay semi-finalist Jeffrey de Zwaan faces Czech star Karel Sedlacek.
Heavy-scoring Dutch youngster Wessel Nijman returns to the Euro Tour stage for the first time since 2019 as he opens up against Croatian qualifier Romeo Grbavac.
World Championship quarter-finalist Brendan Dolan looks to continue his impressive recent run of form when he faces host nation qualifier Hannes Schnier.
Christian Gödl, who also came through Thursday’s host nation qualifier to reach the main draw, starts out against new Tour Card holder Dom ‘The Tower’ Taylor, while room mates Darius Labanauskas and Madars Razma put their friendship to one side as they vie for a place in Saturday’s Second Round.
Former Lakeside semi-finalist Richard Veenstra faces a quick-fire clash with Ricky Evans in one of the stand-out ties of the afternoon session.
The evening session sees Luke Littler make a swift return to big stage action as he takes on Austrian veteran Zoran Lerchbacher.
Littler claimed his third Premier League weekly title in Liverpool less than 24 hours ago to return to the top of the table and seal his place in the play-offs, and the 17-year-old now turns his attention towards challenging for a second Euro Tour title of the year.
Five-time World Champion Raymond van Barneveld has been handed another tough opening assignment against Belgian number three Mike De Decker in Round One.
Recent International Open champion Martin Schindler aims to maintain his sensational spell of form when he comes up against ten-time major winner James Wade – who is battling to secure his place in July’s World Matchplay.
Former Euro Tour event winner Daryl Gurney takes on former Euro Tour event finalist Martin Lukeman in another tasty tie, while reigning UK Open champion Dimitri van den Bergh meets German number two Gabriel Clemens – quarter-finalist in last weekend’s European Grand Prix.
Former Premier League star Chris Dobey opens up against world number 82 Graham Hall, while former UK Open champion Andrew Gilding looks to return to winning ways against debutant Dominik Haberl.
Meanwhile, 2023 European Championship semi-finalist Gian van Veen plays former Grand Slam champion Jose De Sousa.
The action gets under way from 12pm GMT, with First Round ties to be contested over the best of 11 legs.
