The final four face off at the 2023 Grand Slam of Darts on Sunday for the right to become the new name on the Eric Bristow trophy.
A thrilling week in Wolverhampton has seen all former champions fall by the wayside, leaving four players bidding to make history by becoming only the eighth different player to claim Grand Slam glory.
A marathon day of darts features the Semi-Finals taking place in the afternoon session, before the final takes centre stage in the evening.
The opening Semi sees reigning World Grand Prix champion take on ten-time major winner James Wade.
The pair met in the Quarter-Finals of the European Championship last month, where Wade came on top 10-6 with 10/16 on the doubles on his way to finishing runner-up in Dortmund.
Humphries, appearing in successive Grand Slam Semi-Finals, is looking to double his tally of major titles in the space of six weeks following his historic double-start triumph in Leicester.
The world number four, a winner of five European Tour titles, dropped only four legs on his way to topping Group C, before seeing off nine-dart hero Ryan Searle 10-7 in the Last 16.
He then edged out Gary Anderson 16-14 in an epic encounter with a 103.5 average to reach his third major ranking Semi-Final of the season and taking his tournament average to 103.28 with 29 maximums so far this week.
Three-time finalist Wade has competed in all but one staging of the Grand Slam since its inception in 2007, incredibly reaching the knockout stages in 15 of his 16 appearances.
The European Championship runner-up dumped out defending champion Michael Smith with a 5-1 rout to top Group A, before dispatching Chris Dobey 10-8 to reach the Quarter-Finals.
There, Wade recovered from 15-12 down and survived four match darts from Josh Rock to snatch a remarkable 16-15 victory and a place in a fifth Grand Slam Semi-Final.
Having briefly dropped out of the world’s top 16 last month, ‘The Machine’ has made a swift return to the elite bracket and would surge back into the top ten if he was to take the title this evening.
The second Semi-Final sees former PDC World Champion Rob Cross take on former BDO World Champion Stephen Bunting.
Both players have returned to their brilliant best in recent months and will now collide in a first televised meeting since 2020.
Cross saw off Fallon Sherrock 5-2 in their decisive Group G fixture to maintain his perfect record of knockout qualification from seven appearances in the Grand Slam.
He then came through a high quality encounter 10-8 against Nathan Aspinall, averaging 104 to his opponent’s 103.4, before incredibly reeling off ten consecutive legs to seal a 16-6 demolition of Damon Heta on Saturday night.
Cross, who is now back among the world’s top eight, is vying to reach his eighth major televised ranking final, having picked up a first European Tour title this season as well as a brace of World Series titles.
Bunting, runner-up in this season’s German Open, stormed through the Tour Card holder qualifier to seal his spot in this event, and after knocking out European Champion Wright in their group shootout, he thrashed world number seven Danny Noppert 10-4 in the Last 16.
The Merseyside marksman coasted to a 16-8 success over Stowe Buntz in the Last Eight, avenging his defeat to the American debutant in the Group Stage.
The Bullet is appearing in the Semi-Finals of this event for the first time and finds himself in a first major ranking Semi-Final since the 2021 World Grand Prix.
The action gets under way from 1pm GMT, with Semi-Finals and the final to be contested over the best of 31 legs.
