The race to the 2023 Players Championship Finals | Latest qualification table
The race to the 2023 Players Championship Finals draws to a close this week with the final two ProTour events of the season.
Following Players Championship 30 on Wednesday, the top 64 players on the Players Championship Order of Merit will form the field for next month’s Finals in Minehead.
This year’s Players Championship Finals will feature a record prize fund of £600,000, with matches held across two stages at Butlins Minehead from November 24-26.
Gary Anderson is set to be the number one seed for the event, boasting a lead of £10,500 over nearest rival Gerwyn Price after picking up three Players Championship titles so far this season.
The draw for the Players Championship Finals is based on finishing positions in the PC Order of Merit, with the top seed facing the player who finishes in 64th.
A number of big names find themselves outside of the provisional qualification places ahead of the midweek double-header in Barnsley, including newly-crowned European Champion – Peter Wright.
Wright currently occupies 78th spot in the PC Order of Merit, £2,750 adrift of 64th position – which is currently held by Jermaine Wattimena.
The likes of Ricky Evans, Steve Beaton, Mervyn King, Mensur Suljovic and Jeffrey de Zwaan also have work to do if they are to gate-crash the top 64.
Nathan Aspinall’s decision not to enter the final two ProTour events of the campaign means he will miss out on the Players Championship Finals for the first time since 2018.
