Fallon Sherrock lands historic televised nine-darter at the Modus Super Series
Fallon Sherrock created further history by becoming the first female player to hit a nine-darter in a televised event at the Modus Super Series.
Sherrock fired in the perfect leg during her round-robin match against Adam Lipscombe in Portsmouth on Friday, recovering from 3-2 down to win 4-3.
In March, she had become the first female to hit a nine-darter in a PDC event on the Challenge Tour and has now gone a step further by completing the feat in front of the Sporty Stuff TV cameras.
“I’m speechless, I’m so happy with myself,” said Sherrock.
“I was just thinking ‘please just go in’ on the double 12 and I don’t think I’ve gripped a dart so hard in my life.
“The fact that I’m inspiring so many people to pick up a dart, I don’t know how to explain it, I feel so honoured.
“I never thought I’d be the one inspiring people and to be able to help the women’s game, I’m speechless about it.
“The women’s game is getting better and better and there are now players lower down the rankings who have the game to beat us all.”
Sherrock went on to finish top of Group C, ahead of Scott Baker, Marko Kantele, Darren Johnson, Sam Cromwell and Lipscombe, securing a place in the finals.
In July, ‘The Queen of The Palace’ registered an average of 107 during a PDC Women’s Series event, eclipsing her previous record of 101.
Sherrock, who created global headlines by defeating Ted Evetts and Mensur Suljovic to reach Round Three of the 2019/20 World Championship, was awarded an MBE in this year’s King’s Birthday Honours list to recognise her services to the sport of darts.
