The tenth European Tour silverware of the season is up for grabs on Sunday as the last 16 battle it out in Budapest for the 2022 Hungarian Darts Trophy title.

No fewer than ten seeds were sent packing on a dramatic Day Two at the BOK Sportcsarnok, opening up both halves of the draw bracket.

The afternoon session on Day Three plays host to the Third Round ties, before the Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals and final take place in the evening.

Among the stand-out ties is clash between two players seeking their first Euro Tour title as Dirk van Duijvenbode takes on Josh Rock.

Van Duijvenbode has picked up two Players Championship titles this season and will be determined to take the next step with a maiden success on the Euro Tour stage, having opened up with a 104 average and six 180s in a 6-3 win over Chris Dobey on Saturday.

Rock, 21, claimed two Development Tour titles last month to take his overall tally to four for the year, and the Northern Irish ace is now eyeing a first senior title having already dispatched Darius Labanauskas and Damon Heta by 6-4 scorelines.

Dave Chisnall, twice a Euro Tour event winner, resumes his quest for a first title in three years when he faces Croatia’s Boris Krcmar.

Chisnall, unseeded in the draw this weekend, thrashed Daniel Larsson 6-1 on Friday before producing a spectacular 135 checkout on the bull in the deciding leg to oust Jonny Clayton in Round Two.

Krcmar has moved into the provisional qualification places for next month’s European Championship following impressive wins over Levente Sarai and four-time Euro Tour event winner Luke Humphries.

Michael Smith, the highest seed left standing in the competition, continues his challenge for a second Euro Tour title in the space of three events when he meets Irish ace William O’Connor.

Smith whitewashed Daryl Gurney in Saturday’s opener and will look to pick up from where he left off as he faces the former World Cup of Darts finalist who knocked out an out of sorts Dimitri van den Bergh in Round Two.

After surviving four match darts from Brett Clayton in Round One, Jim Williams escaped a further two missed match darts from Peter Wright on his way to pulling off a memorable 6-5 win over the reigning World Champion, and the Welshman’s next test comes in the shape of Masters Champion Joe Cullen.

Cullen, who recently sampled his first taste of World Series action in Australia and New Zealand, battled his way to a 6-4 win over Martin Lukeman and will be eyeing an improvement on his match average of 90 if he is to go deep on Sunday.

Simon Whitlock, who pulled off a sensational sixth consecutive win over Michael van Gerwen in Round Two, now looks to end the hopes of Suffolk star Ryan Meikle – who wins over Gabriel Clemens and Krzysztof Ratajski have moved him into the provisional qualification spots for the European Championship.

Former UK Open winner Nathan Aspinall resumes his quest for a first Euro Tour crown with a tie against Czech qualifier Karel Sedlacek – who has put Thibault Tricole and Ryan Searle to the sword so far this weekend.

Jose De Sousa narrowly wired double 12 for a nine-darter on his way to a dramatic 6-5 win over Raymond van Barneveld on Saturday, and the former Grand Slam champion now comes up against former World Matchplay semi-finalist Jeffrey de Zwaan – a player enjoying a welcome resurgence following a barren spell.

Madars Razma benefitted from a bye into the Third Round following the late withdrawal of defending champion Gerwyn Price, and the Latvian now faces in-form youngster Rusty-Jake Rodriguez – who has dropped only three legs in dispatching Jeff Smith and Danny Noppert so far.

The action gets under way from 12pm BST, with Third Round and Quarter-Final ties to be contested over the best of 11 legs, Semi-Finals best of 13 and the final best of 15.
