Dutch Darts Championship 2022 | Day Three Preview and Order of Play
The eighth European Tour silverware of the season is up for grabs in Zwolle on Sunday as the final 16 vie for Dutch Darts Championship glory.
Nine seeds were sent packing on a dramatic Day Two at the IJsselhallen, including four of the top eight, opening up the top half of the draw in particular.
The afternoon session on Day Three plays host to the Third Round ties, before the Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals and final take place in the evening.
Home hero Michael van Gerwen steps up his quest for a fourth European Tour title of the season with a show-down against World Championship quarter-finalist Callan Rydz.
Van Gerwen put down a marker by thrashing bitter rival Jelle Klaasen 6-2 with a 104.7 average on Saturday, while Rydz followed up his First Round win over Martijn Kleermaker with a 6-1 rout of a below-par Brendan Dolan.
Dirk van Duijvenbode is also hoping to delight his home crowd by overcoming two-time European Tour event winner Dave Chisnall in what promises to be a high-scoring epic.
Chisnall averaged just shy of 106 in his win over fifth seed Jose de Sousa on Saturday, while Van Duijvenbode knocked out Mickey Mansell 6-4 with an average of 97.
World number one Peter Wright continues his pursuit of a first Euro Tour in five years when he faces UK Open champion Danny Noppert.

Michael Smith, Thursday’s Premier League Night 16 winner in Newcastle, looks to continue his superb spell of form when he faces eighth seed Damon Heta – bidding to reach his first Euro Tour final.
The opening tie of the day sees multiple Development Tour winner Ryan Meikle looking to extend his fine run and push for a World Matchplay place when he meets Croatian number one Boris Krcmar – who has already seen off Steve Lennon and Dimitri van den Bergh.
Simon Whitlock survived four match darts from Joe Cullen before edging a narrow 6-5 victory on Saturday and now faces Swedish qualifier Daniel Larsson – who has beaten Mario Vandenbogaerde and Nathan Aspinall en route to this stage.
World number 17 Ryan Searle steps up his push for a first Euro Tour crown with a tie against a resurgent Andrew Gilding – the ProTour event finalist who knocked out Krzysztof Ratajski with a 98 average in Round Two.
Mervyn King’s reward for his victory over top seed Gerwyn Price is a show-down with two-time Players Championship winner Chris Dobey – the number 16 seed looking to ignite his season.
