Gerwyn Price remains top of the PDC Order of Merit following his victory at the 2022 International Darts Open in Riesa.

Price has held down the world number one spot since becoming World Champion for the first time in January 2021, making him only the tenth player to top the PDC rankings.

Price, who landed two nine-darters on his way to winning Night Three of the Premier League in Belfast a fortnight ago, carried that prolific form into the season’s first European Tour event at the weekend, picking up the International Open title for the third time.

The Welshman defeated Peter Wright in the final, ensuring he remains marginally ahead of the reigning World Champion on the Order of Merit going into this weekend’s UK Open.

Price heads to Minehead knowing he must reach the final if he is to have any chance to maintaining the number one spot, or if Wright reaches the Semi-Finals, ‘The Ice Man’ must win the title.

Meanwhile, Michael van Gerwen faces a battle to retain the number three spot and must reach at least the Semi-Final stage of the UK Open if he is to avoid being leapfrogged by defending champion James Wade.

The top 16 remains unchanged following the International Open, with Players Championship Finals runner-up Ryan Searle occupying 16th spot.

Daryl Gurney, currently ranked world number 21, is defending £20,000 of Semi-Final prize money from the 2020 UK Open.

Simon Whitlock, Ian White, Damon Heta and Vincent van der Voort each climbed one place following the weekend’s event in Riesa, while Mensur Suljovic dropped two to 28th.

Ritchie Edhouse climbs three places to 62nd, while Welsh youngster Lewy Williams is up two places to 68th.

PDC newcomer Brian Raman is up 11 places to 93rd after reaching the Last 16 on his European Tour debut, while non Tour Card holder Niko Springer picked up £3,000 after also reaching the Third Round.
