Grand Slam of Darts 2021 Draw | Anderson, Smith and Van Barneveld collide

The draw for the 2021 Grand Slam of Darts has been confirmed, with Gary Anderson, Michael Smith and Raymond van Barneveld drawn together.

The 32-player PDC ranking event will take place from November 13-21 at the Aldersley Leisure Village in Wolverhampton.

This year’s Grand Slam will be the first since the event began in 2007 not to feature any BDO/WDF representatives.

The field is comprised of PDC tournament winners and finalists from the last 12 months, as well as various Order of Merit winners and Tour Card holder, Development Tour and Challenge Tour qualifiers.

Reigning champion Jose De Sousa and World Champion Gerwyn Price – back-to-back Grand Slam champion 2018 and 2019 – will headline the field.

Group H features 2012 champion Van Barneveld making his return to the event, alongside former finalist Gary Anderson, former semi-finalist Michael Smith and World Youth finalist Joe Davis.

Fallon Sherrock will make her Grand Slam debut against World Matchplay champion Peter Wright, with Germany’s Gabriel Clemens and Belgium’s Mike De Decker also drawn in Group E.

Lisa Ashton faces three-time Grand Slam champion Michael van Gerwen in her opening two in Group G, which also features Joe Cullen and World Cup winner John Henderson.

Two-time champion Price has been drawn alongside Krzysztof Ratajski, Martin Schindler and Nathan Rafferty in Group A.

Masters, Premier League, World Grand Prix and World Series Finals champion Jonny Clayton headlines Group B alongside Mervyn King, Bradley Brooks and the European Development Tour champion – who will be confirmed on Sunday.

UK Open champion James Wade and European Championship winner Rob Cross are joined by Croatia’s Boris Krcmar and Wales’ Jim Williams in Group C, with Group D featuring Dimitri Van den Bergh, Stephen Bunting, Ryan Joyce and Rowby-John Rodriguez.
