The World Cup of Darts gets underway in Hamburg on Thursday, and we’ve picked out an unmissable treble to follow.
The annual team event features 32 nations competing across four days for a record £350,000 in prize money, with the opening round comprised solely of pairs matches.
Two-time finalists Scotland, represented by Gary Anderson and Peter Wright, open up with a clash against Denmark’s Per Laursen, an ever-present in the competition, and debutant Niels Heinsøe.
Wales, the number three seeds, finished runner-up in 2010 and 2017, and are strongly fancied to appear at the business end of proceedings once again.
Gerwyn Price and Jonny Clayton start out against World Cup specialists Singapore – represented once again by Harith Lim and the legendary Paul Lim.
This tournament represents a swansong for Sweden’s Magnus Caris, who will retire at the end of the season, and he will be hoping to go out in a blaze of glory alongside Dennis Nilsson as they face Brazil’s Diogo Portela and Artur Valle.
