The £600,000 ranked major features the top 32 players from the European Order of Merit, which is comprised from the prize money earned solely from the 13 European Tour events held over the course of the year.
This year’s European Championship will take place from October 24-27 at the Westfalenhalle in Dortmund – the third consecutive staging at this venue.
Players are drawn in a fixed bracket according to their seeded position, with the top qualifier playing the 32nd, the second playing the 31st and so forth.
Peter Wright is the defending champion after he defeated James Wade 11-6 in last year’s final to claim the title for the second time.
Wright is among five former champions in the field, including four-time winner Michael van Gerwen, 2018 champion James Wade, 2019 champion Rob Cross and 2022 champion Ross Smith.
Martin Schindler is the number one seed after claiming two European Tour titles this season, while reigning World Champion Luke Humphries is the number two seed and reigning Premier League champion Luke Littler is seeded number three.
The likes of Dave Chisnall, Michael Smith, Gerwyn Price, Gary Anderson and Raymond van Barneveld also feature.
