Expansion of PDC Darts in 2019

The PDC is to continue its continental growth in 2019 with the addition of a second Premier League night in Rotterdam, a European Qualifying School and a European Tour event in Prague.

Another ground-breaking year of darts will see the sport's expansion at a professional level continue, particularly with further growth across Europe..

The Premier League has been expanded to 17 nights between February and May as ten of the world's top stars battle out in a round-robin format, with the bottom two elimination after eight weeks and the top four eventually progressing to Finals Night at London's O2 Arena.

PDC ProTour Darts in 2019

There will be 43 PDC ProTour events held throughout the year, comprised of 30 Players Championships and 13 European Tour events.

As opposed to a traditional series of qualifying events, UK Open qualifying criteria has been made exclusive to the 128 tour players, 16 Challenge Tour qualifiers and 16 Riley's amateur qualifiers.

The European Tour will visit the Czech Republic for the first time, as well as returning to Gibraltar, Copenhagen, Vienna, Zwolle and several events in Germany.

The PDC Challenge Tour and Development Tour will both feature 20 floor tournaments in 2019.

There will be 12 events on the PDC Asian Tour, ten events on the Nordic & Baltic tour and 30 events on the DPA circuit in Australia, as well as various other affiliated tours in America and Eastern Europe.

Televised Darts Tournaments in 2019

Following Qualifying School and the PDC's Annual Awards Dinner at The Dorchester in London, The Masters will see the world's top 16 players competing from February 1-3 at Arena MK in Milton Keynes.

The Premier League will begin on February 7 in Newcastle and will also visit Glasgow, Dublin and Exeter during the opening four weeks.

The UK Open will be held from March 1-3 at Butlins Minehead, with the Premier League continuing in Aberdeen and Nottingham before heading to Berlin ahead of a double-header in Rotterdam which will include Judgement Night.

The second half of the season features league nights in Belfast, Liverpool, Cardiff, Birmingham, Manchester, Sheffield and Leeds ahead of the Play-Offs on May 23 at The O2 in London.

The World Cup of Darts will move to Hamburg from June 6-9, with the World Matchplay retaining its traditional spot in the calendar from July 20-28 in Blackpool.

The autumn's televised events will begin from October 6-12 with the World Grand Prix, to be followed by the Champions League and European Championship, which moves to Göttingen.

The World Series Finals will move to the Netherlands to be held, for the first time for a PDC televised event, in Amsterdam from November 1-3.

The Grand Slam of Darts will then be held from November 9-17 in Wolverhampton and be followed by the Players Championship Finals and World Youth Championship final in Minehead from November 22-24.

Dates for the 2019/2020 PDC World Championship are to be confirmed in due course.
