Chris Dobey breaks new ground (credit:Lawrence Lustig/PDC)

Chris Dobey has entered the world's top 32 for the first time in his career, while Harry Ward has climbed ten places on the main Order of Merit as a result of securing his maiden ranking title.

Bedlington's Dobey enjoyed back-to-back Quarter-Final runs in last weekend's ProTour double-header in Barnsley which saw him leapfrog Jeffrey de Zwaan into the world number 32 spot.

Dobey, who was a Players Championship semi-finalist in February, is now provisionally in the twelfth qualification spot for July's Betfred World Matchplay as he bids to make his Blackpool debut after narrowly missing out in recent years.

Ward, 21, enjoyed a magnificent maiden ranking triumph at Players Championship 16 last Sunday, with the £10,000 prize money lifting him from 88th to 78th in the Main Order of Merit and in to the running for a World Matchplay spot.

Elsewhere, Gary Anderson narrowly regains the world number three spot over Daryl Gurney despite not featuring in either of the weekend's ProTour events, while Jamie Lewis (25th) and Max Hopp (26th) climb to career-high positions.

Glen Durrant claimed his second PDC ranking title at Players Championship 15 and subsequently climbs two places to 68th in the Main Order of Merit and to the top of the seasonal Players Championship Order of Merit.

Durrant is now assured of a debut in the Betfred World Matchplay, as well as December's World Championship and is also likely to feature in all other televised ranking majors this season.

Ian White is closing in on a return to the world's top ten after a series of superb results on the European Tour, while Raymond van Barneveld remains in 30th position and 56th on the ProTour Order of Merit as he bids to qualify for the World Matchplay and various other ranked majors in his final season as a professional.
