Joe Cullen has climbed into the world’s top 16 for the first time following the 2018 World Matchplay, while Jeffrey de Zwaan has risen 18 places on the Order of Merit.

Cullen enjoyed a superb run to only his second major Quarter-Final before losing 19-17 to Gary Anderson in an epic contest which saw 'The Rockstar' squander two match darts.

The Bradford ace has subsequently climbed three places to a career-high 15th in the main Order of Merit, leapfrogging Kim Huybrechts, Alan Norris and Adrian Lewis.

Lewis' Second Round defeat to Jeffrey De Zwaan sees him drop out of the top 16 after just a month back among the sport's elite bracket.

Lewis reached the Semi-Finals of the BetVictor World Matchplay in 2016 and failed to defend that prize money, meaning he falls £17,000 adrift of Huybrechts in 16th.

De Zwaan has reaped the rewards of a dream run to the Semi-Finals on debut by surging 18 places to 50th in the world rankings after picking up £30,000 in prize money.

De Zwaan, who won back his Tour Card at Qualifying School in January, still has work to do, however, if he is to book his place in October's World Grand Prix.

Gary Anderson remains in fourth position despite claiming an historic first World Matchplay crown by defeating Mensur Suljovic 21-19 in a pulsating final, with Suljovic solidifying sixth spot and closing the gap on Daryl Gurney.

Raymond van Barneveld, who lost out to Anderson in the Last 16 at the Winter Gardens, leapfrogs Gerwyn Price and Ian White back into 11th position.

Jonny Clayton, one of six debutants in Blackpool, climbs two places to a career-high 21st, while James Wilson is up two places to 28th.

Germany's Max Hopp has also risen two places to 38th after making his debut in Blackpool, with fellow newcomer Richard North climbing from 46th to 43rd.

Terry Jenkins has fallen six places to 51st after he failed to qualify for the World Matchplay, with Ireland's Steve Lennon among the players to move above 'The Bull' - into a career-high 46th.
