Reigning World Darts Champion Michael van Gerwen has been shortlisted for the 2017 BBC Overseas Sports Personality of the Year award.
The world number one and two-time World Champion is among six global contenders have been shortlisted for the prestigious award on December 17.
Van Gerwen has enjoyed unprecendeted success on the PDC circuit this year, following up January's world title triumph by also winning the Premier League, World Cup of Darts, Shanghai Masters, US Masters, European Championship, World Series Finals and Grand Slam titles.
The 28-year-old has also added numerous European Tour and ProTour titles to his collection this season and also became only the second player in history to achieve two nine-darters in one match, during a UK Open Qualifier in February.
Van Gerwen is up against American Football icon Tom Brady, tennis maestro Roger Federer, swimmer Katie Ledecky, Tatyana McFadden of Para-athletics and Athletics' Sally Pearson.
Phil Taylor was the most recent darts star to be nominated at Sports Personality of the Year awards when he finished runner-up to Champion Jockey AP McCoy in the main British category in 2010.
