Simon Whitlock has hinted that he will be included in the 2019 Premier League Darts field in a cryptic post on social media.

Whitlock featured in this year's Unibet Premier League after a four-year absence, finishing in eighth position, and has been touted as a clear contender for a place in next year's elite ten-man road-show.

A tweet posted on Whitlock's official Twitter account on Thursday suggested 'The Wizard' may be set to retain his Premier League place...

Whitlock finished runner-up in October's European Championship and has also reached the final of two European Tour events this season.

Quarter-finalist in the World Matchplay and Grand Slam, Whitlock has cemented his world number eight ranking and has the power to add if he can surpass the Last 32 stage of the World Championship.

The world's top four ranked players following the World Championship will automatically qualify for the Premier League, alongside a further six wildcard picks as selected by the PDC and Sky Sports.

The full line-up is traditionally revealed by PDC Chairman Barry Hearn on New Year's Day during television coverage of the World Championship final.
