The draw for the 2019 PDC World Cup of Darts has been made, with defending champions Netherlands set to face Spain in Round One in Hamburg next month.

Michael van Gerwen and Raymond van Barneveld secured a fourth triumph for the Netherlands in last year's event, now MVG will be partnered by debutant Jermaine Wattimena as they look to eclipse England's tally of four World Cup titles.

Netherlands have been drawn to face Spain, the 2010 semi-finalists, in a tricky opening tie at the Barclaycard Arena, as Cristo Reyes and Toni Alcinas aim to pull off an upset.

This year's World Cup of Darts takes place from June 6-9 and features both pairs and singles matches throughout.

England, four-time winners, will be represented by world number two Rob Cross and debutant Michael Smith, and will take on the Philippines.

Scotland's Gary Anderson and Peter Wright, twice beaten finalists, have been drawn to play Denmark - represented by Per Laursen & Niels Heinsøe.

Grand Slam champion Gerwyn Price and fellow top 16 star Jonny Clayton form a strong Wales side who will meet Singapore - captained by the legendary Paul Lim.

Fifth seeds Australia, represented by Simon Whitlock and Kyle Anderson, will face Finland, while Northern Ireland's Daryl Gurney and Brendan Dolan will play South Africa - led by Devon Petersen.

Kim Huybrechts and Dimitri Van den Bergh reached the semi-finals for Belgium in 2018, and they will team up again as they take on Hong Kong in the opening round, while Mensur Suljovic will star for number eight seeds Austria - who take on Russia.

Hosts Germany see Max Hopp and Martin Schindler continue the partnership which has seen them reach the quarter-finals for the past two years, and they will begin their campaign against Hungary.

The Republic of Ireland will be represented by Steve Lennon and recent Players Championship event winner William O'Connor, and they will meet Greece.

USA stalwart Darin Young will be partnered by Chuck Puleo, and they will meet China, while Canada are set to take on Italy.

Krzysztof Ratajski will head up the Polish side against Czech Reupublic, Diogo Portela's Brazil will meet Sweden, Gibraltar will come up against Japan and newcomers Lithuania will play New Zealand.
