Corey Cadby has pulled out of the 2018 World Series Finals after breaking his arm in a car accident.

The former World Youth Champion has been dealt another blow in a frustrating year away from the oche after recently suffering a broken left arm as a passenger in a car accident.

The Australian ace has been replaced in November's World Series Finals by Hong Kong's Royden Lam.

Cadby's last appearance in a PDC event came in August at the Brisbane Masters - where he defeated Simon Whitlock 6-5 before losing out to eventual champion Rob Cross in the Quarter-Finals.

The year began brightly for the 23-year-old after he earned a Tour Card at Qualifying School before going on to win a UK Open qualifying event and reach the final of the UK Open within the next two months.

However, his progress has since been halted by visa problems in his homeland, meaning he has been unable to travel to Europe to compete on the circuit.

The World Series Finals take place in Vienna from November 2-4 as 24 players compete for £250,000 in prize money in the non-ranking event.

The top eight players from the World Series Order of Merit following the year's six events qualify by right and are seeded through to the Second Round.

That means reigning champion Michael van Gerwen qualifies alongside fellow World Series winners Peter Wright, Rob Cross, Gary Anderson, Michael Smith and Mensur Suljovic.

In addition, Raymond van Barneveld and Simon Whitlock also qualify from the World Series Order of Merit.

The top four non-qualified players from the PDC Order of Merit will also feature and are: Daryl Gurney, Dave Chisnall, Ian White and Gerwyn Price.

Eight players have been invited to compete based on their World Series Order of Merit ranking, headed by James Wade and German Masters finalist Dimitri van den Bergh.

Also among the eight invited players are Aussie trio Kyle Anderson, Damon Heta and Raymond Smith, World Championship semi-finalist Jamie Lewis and Canadian youngster Dawson Murschell.
