Almost 200 players will head to the second city this weekend for the final two 2012 UK Open qualifying events.
The two events offer £35,000 in prize money each and will be held in the Community Hall at the NIA in Birmingham on Saturday May 5 and Sunday May 6.
Following the tournaments, the top 96 players (plus ties) from the UK Open Order of Merit will qualify to compete in the Speedy Services UK Open televised finals at the Reebok Stadium in Bolton from June 7-10.
The 96 successful qualifiers will be joined by a further 32 amateur qualifiers from the events that have been staged at Rileys and Speedy venues across the country in the last few months.
The current cut-off for 96th place is £600, with a further 18 players all on £400, desperate to pick up prize money if they are to challenge for a Bolton spot.
Notable entrants include world champion Adrian Lewis, defending champion James Wade, Premier League champion Gary Anderson and last week's Austrian Open winner Justin Pipe.
PDC newcomer Ted Hankey sampled the atmosphere in the crowd at the NIA on Thursday during the Premier League week night and will be out to rubber stamp his appearance in his first major televised event with a good run this weekend.
Raymond van Barneveld, who tops the UK Open order of merit having earned £14,000, opts out of the double header along with Phil Taylor who also long secured his place in 'The FA Cup of Darts'.
Saturday's tournament features 195 players, with 198 set to take part in Sunday's final Qualifier.
The open, non-seeded draw will be conducted at 12pm each day, with all matches played over the best of 11 legs.
