Two of Darts' current hottest properties go head-to-head this evening for a place in the last eight of the 2012 UK Open in Bolton.
Both Simon Whitlock and Dave Chisnall have showcased possibly the best darts of their respective careers in none-televised ProTour events recently, but will look to replicate that form on the big stage tonight.
Their convincing victories to reach this stage of the event suggest they are certain to provide a thrilling encounter and justify the match being billed as the tie of the round.
Chisnall cruised past Dennis Smith this afternoon, with Whitlock seeing off another methodical ace in Justin Pipe earlier today.
The duo possess a clinical all-round game, but Chisnall has been known to miss doubles in the heat and pressure on the main stage and will need to convert his chances if he is to send home The Wizard.
The duo have met four times in previous ranking competition and surprisingly Whitlock has failed to defeat the St Helens thrower in four attempts.
He has suffered three heavy defeats in recent Players Championship events at the hands of Chizzy, going down 6-0, 6-2 and 6-1.
The bookmakers however install the Aussie as the 4/6 favourite to put an end to that unwanted record, with Chisnall offering value at 11/10 for victory with Bet365
The match gets underway at approximately 8.30pm GMT and will be streamed live over the best of 17 legs from the Reebok Stadium, Bolton.
