World Champion Adrian Lewis faces a make or break game against Simon Whitlock in Newcastle on Thursday night as he looks to seal a place in the prestigious Premier League play-offs.

Jackpot is among five players facing judgement night in the North East and knows that maximum points from his final fixture would guarantee him a Play-Off place.

All the pressure will be on the young Stoke ace as he opens up the night against the relaxed Aussie, who is already assured of his place on finals night at the O2.

Despite not registering a win for three weeks, Lewis occupies pole position adnnd knows that his destiny is in his own hands, while a win will be sufficient, a draw may not be enough and he could spent a nervy evening in front of the TV screen relying on other results.

Whitlock has enjoyed a superb campaign and will be out to rubber stamp second place by earning at least the single point he needs to do so.

Both players possess an abundance of natural talent, with consistent power scoring and clinical finishing, however there is little doubt pressure will play a part in determining the final outcome of a match that promises to be a thrilling encounter.

The duo have met 13 times in previous major competition in total, and Lewis will be encouraged by his marginally better record having taken seven victories to The Wizard's five.

Lewis will also be out to avenge an 8-4 defeat to his bearded opposition during his early season slump in March.

The bookmakers struggle to pick a winner this time around, but install under-pressure Lewis as the slight favourite at 11/10, with Whitlock offering value at 13/10 for victory. The draw is a realistic 9/2 chance also with Bet365.

The match gets underway at 7.10pm GMT and will be streamed live over the best of 14 legs from the Metro Radio Arena, Newcastle.
