A full field of 128 players will return to ProTour action in Birmingham this weekend as the race for World Matchplay places intensifies.
The two £35,000 events are the seventh and eighth of the season and will feature a host of big names in action at the NIA Community Hall in Birmingham.
Recent UK Open champion Robert Thornton is among the notable entrants; The Thorn's shock win in Bolton saw him climb back up to 23rd in the world rankings, but he is one of many players battling for coveted places in July's World Matchplay via the ProTour order of merit.
The world's top 16 players are joined by a further 16 qualifiers, made up of the next highest 16 players from the ProTour order of merit following the cut-off point in mid-July.
World Champion Adrian Lewis, Gary Anderson, James Wade and Raymond van Barneveld will all take part at the weekend, while Phil Taylor skips the trip to the second city.
Tour card holders are joined by associate members who complete the line-up in order of their final ranking in the Q School Order of Merit.
The Players Championship double-header will be preceded on Friday night by the UK Qualifier for the third European Tour event.
All ProTour floor events are non-televised. Action begins at 12pm each day, with all matches played behind closed doors over the best of 11 legs.
