Phil Taylor continues his quest for a fifth European Championship title with a tricky clash against Joe Cullen in the second round at the Ethias Arena in Hasselt on Saturday.
Taylor, who won each of the first four editions of this event from 2008 to 2011, began his mission with a 6-3 victory over Alan Norris at the first hurdle.
Despite trailing 2-1, the Power recorded an impressive average of 109.28 and hit top checkouts of 121, 96 and 84 on the way to a fairly comfortable passage into the Last 16.
The 16-time World Champion is seeking his fourth title of the season, having already captured the inaugural Champions League of Darts as well as the European Tour's Austrian Open and the World Series' Sydney Masters.
He should be confident in his chances against Cullen, who he has beaten in four of the five previous meetings between the players, although the most recent of these came nearly three years ago.
The Rockstar enjoyed a successful debut in the European Championship - enjoying a comprehensive 6-2 victory over rising star Chris Dobey, who was forced to borrow a set of darts from Michael Smith after his luggage failed to arrive in Belgium.
Bradford thrower Cullen will be in a buoyant mood and be confident of adding Taylor to his list of scalps, having reached the final of two Pro Tour events this season as well as the Last Eight of the UK Open.
The winner of this match will take on either second seed Mensur Suljovic or world number 14 Ian White in the Quarter-Finals on Sunday.
Play gets underway at around 8.15pm BST on Saturday, with the best of 19 legs determining who will advance at the Ethias Arena in Hasselt.
