Two former Premier League champions collide in Birmingham on Thursday evening as the table-topping Phil Taylor takes on play-off hopeful James Wade.
The match is a repeat of the famous 'nine dart final' of 2010 and promises to be another classic to round off the night as the stakes are raised at the crunch end of the campaign.
The two heavyweights come into the game with contrasting intentions; Taylor is safe in the knowledge that he will top the table going into finals night at the O2 and will be out to stamp his authority by sending out a message that he wants his Premier League crown back.
Third-placed Wade on the other hand must take something from his tough two-game run-in if he is to join The Power in the play-offs.
He faces Raymond van Barneveld in Newcastle next week, a game which could turn out to be a straight knockout for a place in the coveted play-offs later this month.
The Power bounced back from defeat to Adrian Lewis with a crushing win over Simon Whitlock last week and will be out to continue his momentum all the way to finals night.
Wade has beaten Taylor in this event before and depending on other results could secure his spot alongside the Stoke ace by taking victory in what is likely to be a classic encounter.
The duo have met a staggering 39 times in previous major competition and Taylor boasts a superb record having taken 33 wins to The Machine's six, including a convincing 8-2 thrashing of the left-hander earlier in the season.
The bookmakers make Taylor the inevitable odds-on favourite at 4/11, with Wade priced at 4/1 for what would be a huge victory. The draw is a 11/2 chance also with Bet365
The match gets underway at 9.30pm GMT and will be streamed live over the best of 14 legs from the NIA, Birmingham.
