Players Championship Derby Preview - Big Guns Return To Action

A selection of Darts' elite will return to the oche for the Players Championship events in Derby this weekend following a one month break.

The PDC Pro Tour returns back to the UK following the events in Canada last weekend, which saw wins for John Part and Ronnie Baxter.

Phil Taylor, Raymond van Barneveld, James Wade and Gary Anderson are all set to feature and will be hot favourites to reach the later stages; World champion Adrian Lewis however does not compete.

114 players will line up on Saturday, with 117 in action the next day.

Over £70,000 prize money will be on offer, as the race hots up for places in the upcoming major televised events.

The Unicorn Youth tour will also return following Saturday's main event, with Michael Van Gerwen looking to extend his lead at the top of the rankings and follow up his recent good form, which saw him reach the semi-final of Sunday's Players Championship in Canada.

Play begins at 1pm at the Moorways Centre in Derby, with the draw made at the close of registration at 12pm.
