The World Matchplay Darts tournament is seen as the second biggest PDC event of the season with the leading players taking it very seriously and it’s not only the players who like it as well - the fans are obsessed and the whole tournament is normally sold out within days of tickets being released for sale.

Up until the 2013 event, matches used to have to be won by two clear legs but for the first time ever if a two leg lead has not been established after five extra legs then a special tie-break leg will be played.
