Newly crowned champion of the world Adrian Lewis cements his place as world number two and closes the gap on Phil Taylor to just over £100,000, having trailed by almost four times that amount earlier in the year.

Taylor's shock second round exit at the recent World Championship means he loses £190,000 from his previous total earned at 2010 event, while Lewis's £200,000 first prize which matches his amount last year, piles the pressure on The Power.

The most notable mover in the rankings is world finalist Andy Hamilton. The Hammer produced a number of magnificent performances to reach his first world final, but came up short against Jackpot on Monday night.

He picked up the biggest pay cheque of his career however, with the £100,000 rocketing him up to seventh in the world, having been outside the world's elite top 16 prior to the event.

Other notable climbers include Kim Huybrechts, who reached the Quarter-Finals on his debut at Ally Pally; the Belgian climbs 25 places to 44th, establishing himself as one of the top European stars on the tour.

He, along with Scott Rand, James Richardson and Dave Chisnall, will surely be among the contenders for best newcomer to the PDC at the annual awards dinner on January 3.

A number of big names have fallen down the list however, including five-time world champion Raymond van Barneveld, Co Stompe and Ronnie Baxter, who drops out of the top 16.

James Wade, Gary Anderson and Simon Whitlock retain their places at number three, four and five respectively, as Wes Newton's rise continues; the Fleetwood ace now occupying sixth spot.

The top four players in the rankings will be joined by four wildcards in the 2012 Premier League. The lineup is expected to be confirmed on Wednesday.

The next televised event on the PDC calendar is the World Cup of Darts, to be played from February 3-5.
