Phil Taylor looks to round-off a landmark Premier League season with victory over eliminated reigning champion Gary Anderson, who will be desperate to avoid a rock bottom finish in Newcastle on Thursday.

The fifteen-time world champion and 2011 the champion round off the night at the Metro Arena, with both looking to end the regular season on a high, despite the game baaring no significance towards the play-off race.

Table-topping Taylor has returned to the top of his form over the course of the campaign and will be out to send a clear message to the other qualifiers that he is the man to beat as he heads to London guaranteed to be finish top of the pile.

Contrasting emotions for Gary Anderson as he looks to round off a season to forget by upsetting The Power and avenging his 8-1 drubbing of last time around.

The Power has dropped only three points throughout his 13 games so far, all of them to rival Adrian Lewis, and averaged 116 in defeating Wade 8-1 in Birmingham a week ago.

Should Lewis qualify in fourth position, the duo would meet again in the Semi-Finals for what would be another grudge game.

For the time being Flying Scotsman Anderson will go into the game with Taylor on the back of a slight resurgence, having drawn his last two matches against tough opposition.

The duo have met 21 times in previous major competition including three televised PDC finals. Taylor boasts the superior record having defeated the Scot 18 times.

The bookmakers make Taylor the inevitable odds-on 1/4 favourite, with Anderson priced at 9/2 to end on an ultimate high. The draw offers outside value at 8/1 also with Bet365.

The match gets underway at 9.30pm GMT and will be streamed live over the best of 14 legs from the Metro Radio Arena, Newcastle.

Match permutations
