A total of 63 players took part in the qualifying event at the K2 Centre in Crawley prior to the weekend's Players Championship double-header, with recent World Youth Championship winner Hubbard amongst the players to prevail.

Hubbard continues to go from strength to strength in his first full season as a professional and saw off two experienced throwers in Andrew Gilding and Kevin Dowling 6-3 to ensure he will make the trip to the German capital next month.

PDC newcomer Dean Winstanley came from 5-2 down Aaron Turner to record a 6-5 victory and went on to defeat Mark Jones to win his place in his second successive European Tour event.

Former world semi-finalist Andy Jenkins and veteran Alex Roy also sealed their passage, with Jenkins whitewashing Ryan Harrington (son of Rod) 6-0 and Roy continuing his resurgence with hard fought victories over Richie Howson and bad boy Ted Hankey.

Consistent floor players Darren Johnson and Steve Evans were further qualifiers, alongside former World Championship quarter-finalist Darren Webster.

Highly rated youngster Reece Robinson defeated Ian Jopling 6-2 to win his place in Berlin, while another newcomer in Gaz Cousins qualified for his second successive European Tour event since turning professional in January.

Ireland's William O'Connor, Northern Irish left-hander Michael Mansell, Peter Hudson, Daniel Starkey, Dave Ladley, Prakash Jiwa and youngsters Sam Hill and Keegan Brown also won through to compete in Berlin.

Jim Walker continued his fine run of form with a 6-5 win over Steve Grubb, with Michael Barnard and Mick Todd the night's other qualifiers.

The successful qualifiers will join the world's top 32 players in the £82,000 event in addition to eight European qualifiers and four home nation players.

Phil Taylor, Adrian Lewis, James Wade and Gary Anderson are star attraction for the event which is open to the public and the tournament will also feature the likes of Raymond van Barneveld and Event One (Austrian Open) winner Justin Pipe.

The draw for the first round will be made during the UK Open in Bolton from June 7-10, with the field being completed by the European Qualifier and Home Nation Qualifier to be staged in Cologne next weekend.

The lucrative event will be played from June 22-24 at the Tempodrom in Berlin and is the second of five new events added to the 2012 PDC ranking calendar.
