World Champion Adrian Lewis takes on UK Open champion Robert Thornton in a mouth-watering first round clash on day one of the World Matchplay on Saturday evening.
The match signals a re-run of their showdown at the same stage of the 2012 World Championship, a game which saw Lewis prevail 4-2 en route to claiming his second world title.
But now, the tables have turned, Thornton is the form horse heading into the game and all the pressure is on Jackpot to avoid another early exit this year.
The Thorn stunned the darting world by winning his first career major title at the UK Open in June, proving his calibre with victories over the likes of Mark Webster, Gary Anderson, Dave Chisnall and Phil Taylor along the way.
The Scot qualified for this event as a non-seed courtesy of his position on the ProTour order of merit, and his new approach to playing following a spell on injuries appears to be paying dividends.
Lewis has enjoyed relative success in this tournament over the years, reaching the Semi-Finals on two occasions, how he would love to go one step further in 2012.
Both players possess a clinical all-round game, something which should make for a thrilling encounter on the famous Winter Gardens stage.
The duo have met 11 times in previous major competition and Lewis has dominated proceedings having won nine of those matches including their last at the World Championship.
The bookmakers make Lewis the odd-on favourite to progress over the long format at 4/11, with Thornton offering value at 11/5 to cause an upset with Bet365
The match begins at 9.00pm BST and will be streamed live over the best of 19 legs from the Winter Gardens, Blackpool.
