Gary Anderson says he is revved-up for Las Vegas glory after being “gutted” at missing out on a Ford Mustang last year.

Anderson has arrived in the gambling capital of the world ahead of the William Hill U.S Darts Masters, which starts on Friday.

It kicks off a massive month for 'The Flying Scotsman' as he competes in three World Series events and also the BetVictor World Matchplay in Blackpool.

Anderson has won World Series events in Dubai, Auckland, Australia and Japan - now he wants to add Vegas to that list.

"I'm happy being back in Vegas, we loved every minute of it last year," said Anderson.

"It was a long break since we were last here, six or seven years and it’s brilliant to be back in such an amazing place.

"I hope I can win it here, not managed to yet. There was a Ford Mustang up for grabs a year ago and I missed out on it, I was gutted!

"It's now just about hitting the practice board over the next day or so to prepare properly and hopefully I’ll find some form.

"I'm looking forward to it, there’s some cracking players and it’ll be good to see who gets through."

By his standards, Anderson has not enjoyed a great record at the World Matchplay, having only made the Semi-Finals in 2014 and 2016.

The Musselburgh ace has always admitted that it has been his bogey tournament and is mystified why he has never produced his A game on the seaside.

He added: "It's a massive month. We're away for two weeks now, home for four days then off to sunny Blackpool for the Matchplay.

"Then when that finishes on the Sunday, it's straight off to New Zealand. It's a busy five or six weeks.

"Hopefully I can set myself up for a successful period of time with a good start in Vegas. That’s the big aim anyway."
