The 2012 World Matchplay Darts has reached the second round stage, with a number of darts' box office entertainers in action tonight.
We are loving the action at Winter Gardens this week, with Dean Winstanley’s 13-11 win over Gary Anderson on Tuesday night seeing the former BDO player come back from 5-0 down to beat the Flying Scotsman.
Now the second round is about to get under way and we have some potential humdingers to enjoy tonight, with world champion Adrian Lewis in action when he faces Andy Smith for a place in the quarter final.
Jackpot was in mean form against Robert Thornton in his first round match when obliterating his opponent 10-0 and he’s a massive favourite to see off a player that took down Paul Nicholson.
Meanwhile, Raymond van Barneveld v Terry Jenkins should be a competitive affair, with Barney enjoying a 10-4 win over Michael Smith to book his place in the last sixteen, although The Bull went the distance before seeing off Kim Huybrechts.
Michael van Gerwen appears to be coming of age and he’s up against Steve Beaton tonight, with the Adonis having accounted for Kevin Painter in the first round, while James Wade will be confident of further progress against Mark Walsh.
