The first round of the 2012 World Matchplay draws to a close on Tuesday evening as local heroes Ronnie Baxter and Wes Newton take to the Winter Gardens stage along with the likes of Dave Chisnall and Gary Anderson.
We enjoyed some pulsating darts on Monday night as Mervyn King had chances to send home Phil 'The Power' Taylor, although the Stoke ace managed to claim a 10-8 victory which books his place in round two of the World Matchplay Darts.
There are still several second round places up for grabs, with four more thrilling matches taking place tonight.
The methodical Justin Pipe opens up the night against one of three players making their Matchplay debuts tonight - Joe Cullen.
Pipe is renowned for being one of the most dangerous off-stage players, but as yet has not fulfilled his true potential on the big TV stage; he will be hoping to make a big impact this time around.
Youth Tour star Cullen has beaten many of the world's top players early on in his bright career and has plenty of big stage experience, something which combined with his impressive form, could see him cause an upset tonight.
Wes Newton makes the short trip from nearby Fleetwood for his match with reigning World Youth Champion James Hubbard.
The Warrior, like so many players, favours this age-old venue and is playing the darts of his life, reaping the rewards by climbing to fifth in the world rankings.
Hubbard has become one of the most talked about young players in the world of darts as he continues to make huge strides in his first year as a professional; he has defeated Adrian Lewis and Andy Hamilton in recent European Tour events and will fear no one coming into this event.
Newly turned PDC player Dean Winstanley will also make his Matchplay debut when he faces an injury plagued Gary Anderson; the Yorkshireman will fancy his chances of taking a scalp against the unfancied Scot, but knows Anderson is capable of turning on the style at any time.
Hotshot Dave Chisnall will be hoping to transfer his rampant ProTour form onto the big stage, but will be without the backing of the sell-out Blackpool crowd when he comes up against local star Ronnie Baxter to round off the night.
Chizzy has been tipped by many as a potential outsider for the title this week after storming to countless tour titles in 2012 and showing promise by reaching the Semi-Finals of the recent UK Open.
The action gets underway at 7.10pm BST and all matches will be streamed live over the best of 19 legs from the Winter Gardens, Blackpool.
