Dart's most famous televised open event returns from June 7-10 at the Reebok Satdium in Bolton with world's top players pitched alongside a series of amateur qualifiers all looking to make a name for themselves on the big stage.

The cut off for the event was made on Sunday evening following the last of the eight PDC professional qualifiers and saw 96 players secure their spot in the £200,000 event.

They will be joined by a further 64 qualifiers who have come through events held in Speedy Services venues and Rileys clubs nationwide over the past few months.

Raymond van Barneveld tops the order of merit having earned an impressive £14,000 from just four events, closely followed by Wes Newton with £13,800 from all eight events, including victory in the final qualifying event.

Phil Taylor will be bidding for a fifth UK Open title and will undoubtedly head into the event as the favourite following a rampant Premier League campaign.

James Wade will start his title defence in the first round on opening night after missing out on a top 32 finish; The Machine however found himself in the same position last year and went on to lift the title.

Darting villain Ted Hankey will make his long awaited PDC debut in the event on opening night after finishing in 71st; The Count is sure to be featured on the main stage and will be out to prove he has what it takes to cut it in the big time.

Fellow newcomers Dean Winstanley, Stuart Kellett and Tony West will also make their debuts and are joined by a host of fearless youngsters such as James Hubbard, Adam Hunt and Shaun Griffiths.

A number of high calibre players have also booked their place in the main event via the Rileys qualifiers, including former World Championship Semi-Finalist and Grand Prix runner-up Shayne Burgess, as well as BDO England international and highly rated county player Glen Durrant.

Notable absentees include 2005 World Championship finalist Mark Dudbridge, 2008 world finalist Kirk Shepherd and veteran Swede Magnus Caris, who all failed to make the cut of £600 from the eight events.

The event is renowned for it's open draw after the completion of each round, meaning any ties are possible at any stage of the competition.

Sponsors Speedy Services also hosted challenge events at seven of their bases, resulting in a host of their employees being handed a chance to take on the top stars.

A host of Rileys qualifying events are still to be staged to determine the final remaining places.
