The business end of the tournament sees the length of the format increase and there are no second chances, as the losers will exit the competition.
The night kicks off with Lakeside runner-up Dean Winstanley taking on Abotts Langley thoroughbred Mark Walsh.
Winstanley cruised through his group, winning all three matches against high quality opposition, which will give him confidence going into tonight's game against Walsh, who is beginning to bring his promising floor game to the big stage.
The second game of the night promises to be a raucous encounter as young Dutchman Michael van Gerwen faces villain Ted Hankey.
Both players produced two superb performances in their relative groups, including big finishes and heavy scoring, meaning the game has all the ingredients for a classic.
The match of the night sees James Wade face Gary Anderson. Both Premier League stars have had their personal problems of late, but will be looking to put them to one side as they battle for a quarter-final place tonight.
Terry Jenkins and Wayne Jones round off the night at the Civic; local favourite Jones has a good record in the tournament and will be out to please his home crowd by beating the resurgent Ledbury thrower.
Action gets underway from 7pm at the Wolverhampton Civic Hall, with selected matches streamed live over the best of 19 legs.
